We don’t come into life with a handbook. Every minuet, maybe every second, we are making decisions about something. Most of these are under the radar and we don’t even recognize them as decisions, but they are. What to do next, how to greet a co-worker, what to have for breakfast, what to wear in the morning, our life is composed of sequences of decisions – most of which are on auto-pilot.
When we make decisions without thinking then we are sending the signal that we are not involved in our life and that we don’t care. This form of ‘not caring’ is not negative in and of itself, but is a cipher and so only takes away from the joy of life a little bit and only adds a little bit to the denial of life.
How often are you immersed in the joy of life? When you are you are sending a strong and clear signal to your body that life is wonderful and your body will respond by doing everything it can to ensure that it thinks so too! Your cells will vibrate in excitement and your blood will flow and your entire physical being will sing. Everything that does not support the loving of life will get removed and because you are loving life, you will not be over stressing your body with none life supporting stuff, either.
When you are not paying attention, when you are not present and aware of life and your relation to it, your body slogs along struggling to deal with the chemical imbalances it has to deal with and the excess…sugar, drugs, alcohol, stress, fear, what have you, all the things you do to get your own self through the day. It stores these as best it can – stuffing things here and stuffing things there. .
When you are in denial of life, when you say ‘no’ or ‘it’s too much trouble’ or ‘I just can’t’ or anything similar, or when you are sad, depressed, angry, anxious and all the other emotions we dread, then your body recognizes that life is not desired and it works to help you achieve what you say you want by storing all that stuff in places that will overload the system – providing you with symptoms that are clearly not life affirming.
Suggestion number one: be conscious, be aware – choose your decision, what ever it is!
Suggestion number two: check in, did this choice may you – happy, complete or satisfied? If not rechoose.
Suggestion number three: practice, practice, practice this awareness continually. You have thousands of opportunities, to practice and if you persist, in time, you will begin to see a shift as you make more life affirming choices. Your choices are affirming the joy of life when they make you happy, confident, complete, and satisfied.
Put off making choices if you are not clear. Go hungry until you know what you want to eat! Don’t settle for second best and grab something to stem the hunger. Second best is NOT fulfilling! Make it a game and not an attempt to ‘prove’ you are perfect. Treat yourself and life lightly.
