How Should We Live?
Living with integrity means having an alignment of body, mind, spirit and emotions
We are body, mind and spirit. Our sicknesses and dis-ease manifest when we are not in balance with ourselves. Self-healing occurs when our body, mind and spirit are in alignment and thoughts and emotions are key to making this happen. My cancer journey, Dr. Kelly Turner's brilliant distillation of the nine aspects of self-healing, and my work with organizations from a systems perspective are all paths to the same truth. Alignment brings health, in all it's forms!
Nature is all about Life and abundance. Nature fosters life in every kind of situation and she’s been getting better and better at it so life has become more and more complex, increasing in both kind and amount for the past 3.8 billion years. Surely she has something to teach us! Her patterns, principles and yes values, are something every person can affirm from their own experience, if they so choose. By distilling the observations and insights of an army of curious individuals we have begun to clarify just exactly how she does it. Now we can follow suit.
The two basic tenants of Mother Nature: all actions support the capacity for life with the intention of maintaining the integrity of the whole, make every action she takes make sense. Not only that, by using these two main principles/values as the foundation for our own decision-making, we can begin to bring forth those same conditions.
Gandhi so famously said, “Be the change you want to see.” We want a lush and healthy planet! We want a vibrant and abundant life! Who best to learn from about how to do that then the expert herself – Mother Nature. What better place to begin to practice this new way of being than business?
When we were few we had the luxury of tinkering with things and the damage we did was minimal and the resilience of nature restorative. Now that we are many, we need to integrate our intentions in a manner that ensures continued life on a healthy planet.

It Matters What We Believeby Sophia Lyon Fahs |
Some beliefs are liked walled gardens. They encourage exclusiveness, and the feeling of being especially privileged.
Other beliefs are expansive and lead the way into wider and deeper sympathies. Some beliefs are like shadows, clouding our days with fears of unknown calamities. Other beliefs are like sunshine, blessing us with the warmth of happiness. Some beliefs are divisive, separating the saved from the unsaved, friends from enemies. Other beliefs are bonds in a world community, where sincere differences beautify the pattern. Some beliefs are like blinders, shutting off the power to choose one’s own direction. Other beliefs are like gateways opening wide vistas for exploration. Some beliefs weaken a person’s selfhood. They blight the growth of resourcefulness. Other beliefs nurture self-confidence and enrich the feeling of personal worth. Some beliefs are rigid, like the body of death, impotent in a changing world. Other beliefs are pliable, like the young sapling, ever growing with the upward thrust of life. |
